To address the global artificial intelligence (AI) skills gap, IBM, headquartered in New York, announced on September 18, 2023, its commitment to train two million individuals in AI by the end of 2026, with a particular focus on marginalized communities. In pursuit of this ambitious goal on a global scale, IBM is expanding its collaborations with universities worldwide, partnering with organizations to provide AI training for adult learners, and introducing new generative AI courses through IBM. These efforts aim to build on IBM’s existing programs and career development platforms, granting broader access to AI education and sought-after technical roles.

According to a recent study conducted by the IBM Institute of Business Value, surveyed executives estimate that 40% of their workforce will need to reskill in the next three years due to the implementation of AI and automation, especially those in entry-level positions. This underscores the increasing demand for new roles and skills driven by generative AI. Therefore new generative AI courses through IBM are a great opportunity.
