IIT Guwahati has introduced its inaugural fully online undergraduate degree program, the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, under the auspices of the Mehta Family School of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. Here’s a breakdown of the key features:

Program Highlights: Designed to prepare students for roles in the tech industry, the program offers flexibility in pacing and coursework. It’s entirely online, catering to learners worldwide, including both professionals and recent Class XII graduates.

Eligibility and Admission: Prospective students must have a minimum of 60% marks in Class XII with Mathematics as a compulsory subject. Admission is based on a Composite Score, which considers performance in Class X, XII, and an online course. Alternatively, direct admission is available for JEE (Adv) qualifiers.

Program Details: The program spans a minimum of 4 years, extendable up to 8 years, following a trimester system with 3 terms annually. Students can opt for a multi-exit system, earning certificates, diplomas, and degrees at various stages.

Teaching and Assessment: Instruction is conducted entirely online in English, featuring recorded lectures, live sessions, and interactive discussions. Assessments are administered online in a proctored mode, eliminating the need for physical travel to examination centers.

Fee Structure: The total fee for the four-year program amounts to approximately Rs. 4,00,000 plus, inclusive of admission and course registration fees paid per credit every trimester.
